M&M Twins

My boys are now 4 months. Where in the world has the time gone… Just three and half months ago, I was praying for them to come home from the hospital. They spent the first month of their lives in Duke and DRH NICU. I am happy to say they have been healthy babies from day one. Thank you Lord, they are home and I’m able to steal some time to blog and keep you guys updated on their development.

Mekhi is the oldest but smallest of the two. He is doing so well. My little big boy has hit milestones that the doctor is very surprised of.
Miles is the beast in this pair.

Size: Mekhi is 8.5lbs and 20inch long. He is measuring as a newborn baby would weight. He is healthy with no concern from the doctor. I’m actually putting a bottle in his mouth every time he comes up from a nap.

Miles, is 12.5lb!! He is a brute. He is right on point for his age at this point. He is right where they expect him to be; length, head circumference, and weight are all on track for a four month old.

Eating: We are still feeding Soy formula due to the boys being lactose intolerant. They have been doing well on it but it has been one ongoing problem… pooping has been tough. I have added Flax oil to two of their bottle to make the process easier for them.
It kills me to here the boys scream because they are trying to go potty and it hurts. Dr. G suggested suppositories, but I’m not one to use a lot of drugs and things that will have some kind of after effects. I chose to look up natural solutions.
Flax oil it is. Not only does the flax oil help them poop but it has other healthy attributes, brain development and heart health. Go figure suppositories has nothing to offer.

I have tried some baby food here and there. Apples and Bananas. I didn’t want to add too much too soon. I have been told and read that, if you feed solids too early, there is a bigger chance of obesity later in life. I need my boys to be in good health and shape. No sitting on the sofa playing video games or watching NickJr.

Milestones: Both boys have been sleeping on their tummies since they were two months old. This is not what doctors recommend, but the only way for them and me to get some sleep. I was sleep deprived for the first two weeks of them coming home. I had to figure something out. Sleeping on the tummy was it. The sleep very well this early in the game.
Rolling over and moving across the bed are two big steps as well.

I’m so proud of my mothering skills and how its helping my boys develop so fast.

Every morning when I pick them up for the first time, I say “Good Morning and Hello”. I know they are going to one day repeat this and I’m going to freak out. I mean, they are already trying to mimic my lips and mouth the word hello.

I have a prediction. The boys will be crawling at 6 to 7 months and walking by 9 months. Talking in the next month or two

I’m a proud super mom of TWINS!!!
